These clay formations do somewhat resemble the pillars in Roman ruins.
Located in very SE Oregon, they are seldom visited. Even though few people see them, it is a great side trip if you are in the area. The formations extend for several miles/kilometers, so you can frequently find a viewing angle that works with the placement of the sun.
They are located near Rome, on US Hwy-95 east of Jordan Valley, near Idaho.
