An uncommon view of Oregon, even to most Oregonians, that is actually pretty common. A large portion of the central and eastern parts of the state look something like this. Some are grasslands, some are sandy, some are covered in rocks and sage with the occasional juniper tree. Yes, you can shout at the top of your lungs, and there isn’t anybody anywhere nearby who can hear you.
If it is quiet enough, you can hear the blood rushing through your ears – really!
This view happens to be south of Baker City.
